les gens d’Uterpan, 2012

Annie Vigier (born 1965) and Franck Apertet (born 1966) live and work in Paris.

Vigier & Apertet’s work as choreographers examines the norms that define dance and live arts. Their actions explore the limitations of the human body and the restrictions of representation. This process implies redefining the practice of dance and consequently involves rethinking the role of the dancer, the choreographer and the audience. By working within different frameworks, les gens d’Uterpan expand the territory and challenge the conditions for presenting, producing and interpreting dance and live arts.
